Fall in love with Fall

Although we love the excitement of summer flings, nothing says romance and elegance like the deep colors of fall. These warm tones keep popping up everywhere from Pantone to New York Fashion Week, interior designs, wedding blogs, and Pinterest. This month, we’re exploring the mesmerizing enchantment of dark fall colors as we head into the autumn wedding season.

Flowers & Foliage

Bouquets and floral decor are a must at any wedding, but the stark contrast between emerald foliages and luscious reds, burnt oranges, and deep golds add a new dimension to classic wedding arrangements. Grooms Micheal and Tyler at Primrose Cottage used the dramatic red and golden tones of autumn as inspiration for the backdrop of their ceremony. The arch was embellished with dried fan palms, giving the ceremony an elegant splash of color and texture. Both maids of honor carried spectacular bouquets coordinating with their dresses, each designed with many varieties of flowers and greenery. The moment was captured by George Street Photo.

The landscape of Cloverleaf Farm serves as a beautiful backdrop for the romantic reds, pops of peach, and warm ivory tones of Ashley and Raul’s flowers, flawlessly arranged by A Divine Event Design Studio. The bride’s bouquet was brimming as a perfect collection of richly colorful flowers, branches, and fronds, while the bridesmaids carried bunches of greenery and small ivory blossoms, the perfect complement to her gown from Wedding Angels Bridal. Renee VanderWal Photography could not have captured a more lovely and spontaneous moment between the bride and groom, with the bride’s bouquet in full center, standing by their Party Bus from Stephen’s Limousine Service. Our blushing bride at Flint Hill perfectly matched her lace Martina Liana gown from Monica’s Bridal with the overgrown trellis, her hair and makeup artistically done by Aubirly Painted. As the couple slipped away for an intimate moment in the garden, the pros at Lunalee Photos beautifully captured it on film. Oversized bouquets make a gorgeous statement item for weddings. Kristin, this beautiful Vinewood Stables bride, also loves a stunning bouquet and made sure to memorialize her flowers in a tender moment with her new husband, West, suited by Menguin Suits. Precious T Photography caught this joyful celebration of the couple’s newlywed excitement, a moment that surely brought a tear to everyone’s eyes at Little Gardens. The backdrop was adorned with beautiful rusty orange and burgundy roses, a perfect compliment to the bride’s lace-embellished Martina Liana mermaid gown from Wedding Angels Bridal, and the groom’s sharp tuxedo from Savvi Formalwear. As an extra touch, the bride’s bouquet was finished with long ribbons in terracotta orange, adding a dramatic touch to the romantic affair. Hair and makeup by Enhanced by Teisha

When taking pictures, make sure your photographer captures all the little details of your special day. Bride Alexis will never forget her over-filled bouquet, brimming with peach tulips, orange cymbidium orchids, golden astilbe, and yellow crispedia, blushing Quicksand Roses and pops of blue from the navy centers of the white anemone and blue thistle. The bouquet stands out with its dramatic textures against her classically understated gown from Kelly’s Closet. Tabletops, like the farm table set at Cloverleaf Farm with a mix of floral and candle pieces atop a long gauze runner at Courtney and Sterling’s wedding illustrate how a dramatic pop in the napkins and unique place cards can make a colorful statement. Expertly captured by Heather Wall Photo, this table setting is fall wedding goals!

Fall Menus & Cuisines

Fall wedding menus are the perfect opportunity to treat your guests to rich flavors and aromas.  Seasonal vegetables like squash, brussel sprouts, and sweet potatoes pair well with proteins like the Maple Marinated Smoked Salmon, which is also delicious served atop a bed of rosemary, thyme, and lemon risotto. Subtle flavors like fresh peppery arugula and extra virgin olive oil help bring out the sweetness of the maple marinade. This is also the perfect season to serve bolder proteins, like lamb chops and filet mignon with balsamic vinegar or spiced cream-based sauces.

Finally, it's not a wedding if you don’t have dessert! Couples are now opting for fun options to complement their traditional wedding cake. Fall is the perfect time to showcase southern favorites like A Divine Events' wickedly delicious Mini Pecan Tassies. Bite-sized versions of the original dessert, they’re packed with pecans and brown sugar goodness, sure to please any sweet tooth. This is also the perfect time to serve spice cake, sweet potato pie, and apple or pumpkin anything!
